I want to listen via my smart speaker.

Why can't I say "play LAist" to my smart speaker?
    • Ironically, smart speakers aren’t exactly “smart” in that they have trouble with non-dictionary words such as “LAist.” To get around that, the services must be “trained” to recognize it. We are actively working with NPR, Amazon, Apple, and Google to get this training in place, but in the meantime, we recommend sticking with our call letters “KPCC” as that works more reliably right now.

No problem . LAist 89.3 will work with your smart speaker. Just use the following commands:

    Amazon Alexa

    • Say “Alexa, play KPCC
    • To get the latest news headlines, say “Alexa, play the L.A. Report

    Google Assistant

    • Say “Hey Google, play KPCC

    Apple HomePod

    • Say “Hey Siri, play KPCC
