Fall weather brings cool temps and chance of drizzle later this week

Look for cooler temps this week with highs topping out in the 70s for most of Southern California.

This morning we'll see some fog, haze and cloud coverage — that should scatter by later this afternoon, followed by partly cloudy skies. That will be pretty typical this week. Forecasters say there's a chance of drizzle come Thursday and gusty winds over the mountains.

For the coasts, temperatures will reach the 60s. Valleys and inland areas will experience highs in the 70s, around 81 degrees for the warmest parts of the western San Fernando Valley and Inland Empire.

In the deserts, expect a high of 98 degrees in Palm Springs and 82 degrees in Victorville.

Tonight's lows will drop to the mid 50s.
